This presentation details how the National Climate Assessment (NCA), by way of compliance with federal mandates for Information Quality (data transparency and accessibility), as a Highly Influential Scientific Assessment (HISA) (reproducible findings), and Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking, provides quality metadata for decision and policy-makers, and the general public alike. Details on our tools and processes are explained, along with how the NCA anticipates meeting requirements of open licensing and software documentation in the upcoming 5th National Climate Assessment. This presentation was given in January 2020 at the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) Winter Meeting in Bethesda, MD.
