The Data Help Desk provides researchers with opportunities to engage with informatics experts familiar with their scientific domain and to learn about skills and techniques that will help further their research and make their data and software open and FAIR. This presentation, originally given at the 2020 Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) Summer Meeting held virtually in July 2020, shares insights from organizing and executing Data Help Desks both virtually and in-person.
