<p>NSF NCAR's In-situ Sensing Facility serves the science community by providing a flexible and scalable sensor network that is applicable to a wide range of scientific needs over land and ocean. Our emphasis is on providing high quality data from advanced ground-based sensors able to deploy to remote or difficult locations.  Observations from our in-situ measurement systems have guided regional model and forecast development, supported research in boundary layer meteorology and turbulence studies, investigated lower atmosphere response to surface heterogeneity, and enhanced our understanding of mountain and coastal weather, fire weather, and air quality. </p> <p><br></p>
