Understanding Science Product Utilization and Data Volumes Reduction in Subset Services Through Data Distribution Analysis

Using the Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Applications, Version 2 (MERRA-2) dataset as an example, we have investigated the utilization of science data by analyzing the data distribution metrics. We answered questions such as: What are the most popular products and variables? How are the data services used? How much are the data volumes reduced in subset services? This poster was presented at the 2024 July ESIP Meeting in Asheville, NC (July 22-26, 2024).
