The poster describes how concept maps can be used to capture the rich tapestry of science, technology, and policy dimensions that must be appropriately orchestrated for understanding and managing large-scale socio-environmental challenges. We envision a future repository of concept maps to be repurposable for self-paced education, transdisciplinary engagement, and machine-assisted “context-aware” knowledge discovery for decision support. We envision using these “data to decisions” concept maps as the foundations of a transdisciplinary knowledge base, upon which technologies will be developed to help planners re-use and adapt components of risk management plans developed for other contexts. This presentation was given at the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) Summer Meeting held online in July 2020.
