State geological surveys contain a wealth of active earth science research, data, physical samples, and services that benefit numerous stakeholders, including academic researchers, companies, government agencies, educators, and the public. Despite the value of state survey research data and samples, awareness and ability to implement leading data practices can be challenging due to numerous constraints. We present the outcomes of a one-day workshop held with researchers at the Kentucky Geological Survey to address these challenges. This poster was presented at the 2024 July ESIP Meeting in Asheville, NC (July 22-26, 2024).
