Automated Metadata Processing in SAMOS

The Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS) project is an established data collection project that gathers recorded data from a series of research vessels across the globe. Both data and metadata are managed within this system, however, the latter has only ever been updated manually until recently. This poster will discuss recent developments in automating this process, how we keep track of metadata variables, and the future of this automated processing. This poster was presented as part of the 2024 January Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) Meeting held virtually (Jan 23-26, 2024).
